This should be one of the closest games on Day 1. Anyone’s Legend qualified by winning China’s EWC qualifier and enter with a 20-12 season record, narrowly better than Dplus’ 19-12. Flandre and Tarzan give AG.AL plenty of experience around the top side, but Dplus also remain dangerous because of their jungle-mid synergy, as Lucid and ShowMaker can take control of a best-of-one quickly, while Smash is always a reliable botlane threat. Their recent results against Korea’s top teams aren’t very convincing, however: they lost to both T1 and HLE during the Korean qualifier and were later eliminated by KT Rolster in the Road to MSI. That does not make Dplus weak, but it makes AG.AL the slightly more trustworthy side coming into Paris.
This is not a comfortable favorite pick, especially it being BO1, but if I had to choose one I’d go with Anyone’s Legend, since they have shown the steadier overall level and should edge a competitive game.
