These two met just over a month ago at the IEM Cologne Major, and funnily enough, that was also a 2-2 Swiss decider. B8 came out on top back then, and I think they’re about to do it again.
The biggest reason is consistency. B8 have had their ups and downs in Guangzhou, but they’ve generally showed mroe than BIG did throughout this tournament. Their losses came against teams that are still alive, while BIG have struggled to put together complete performances despite staying competitive in most of their series.
This doesn’t feel like a matchup where there’s huge value in chasing an upset. BIG always have the experience to make things difficult, especially with blameF and JDC leading the way, but B8’s recent head-to-head win, and slightly wider map pool give them the edge. Expect a competitive series, but B8 remain my pick to advance.
