Hanwha Life Esports begin their EWC run only three days after winning the MSI title, and this looks like the most one-sided matchup of Day 1. HLE recovered from an earlier loss to Bilibili Gaming, avoided an upset against LYON, and then beat BLG 3-2 in the Grand Final. Zeka is in incredible form, and finished MSI with a 6.1 KDA across the event, while Zeus, Kanavi, Gumayusi and Delight give HLE all the individual quality and experience needed to win against anyone at the moment.
MIBR.LOS deserve some credit for the run they had. After losing the CBLOL final to FURIA, they fought their way through the South American qualifier, with wins against paiN, LOUD and Vivo Keyd Stars. Sure, they arrive with some momentum and recent experience in high-pressure elimination matches, but nothing in the said run compares to facing the MSI champions. A BO1 almost always leaves room for an upset, but that should not be the case here. I’m expecting a blowout, possibly the shortest game of the opening matches.
