FURIA Win Thunderpick World Championship 2025 in a Brutal Reverse Sweep

FURIA just pulled off the reverse-sweep of the year. They even put an exclamation mark at the end. It’s their second Tier-1 trophy in a month, and easily the loudest statement that this squad made so far.

The Thunderpick World Championship 2025 Grand Final started with NaVi’s pick, Mirage, and they were looking way more comfortable that I’m used to seeing them. They didn’t hold anything back, and just ran through FURIA. Everything was on spot – entries, trades, utility – just pure control of the map, start to finish. 13-6, easy.

Inferno, same story. Although the final map score might not suggest so, NaVi looked fully in control from start to finish. FURIA started to show a bit of life here and there, but at 2-0, it looked like the third map’s a wrap.

Then came Nuke. I don’t know what FalleN and sidde said to the team, but it worked big time, and FURIA started looking like itself again. FalleN and KSCERATO came alive, winning some clutch rounds, and NaVi started to lose those 50/50s they were winning earlier. FURIA closed it 13-8, and you could feel that they won’t let the trophy slip that easy.

Dust2 was all Brazil. Molodoy exploded for a huge half, YEKINDAR was popping off in pistols, and you could clearly see that NaVi’s composure and momentum completely started to fade. No more trades, no synergy, nothing. FURIA closed it 13-5, and suddenly it was 2-2. But this didn’t have to do anything with skill – the confidence gap was very visible.

Usually when it gets to the decider, you’d expect for both teams start throwing hands and give the best of what they got. Well, NaVi did the exact opposite. They laid flat on their backs, and let FURIA roll all over them, a pure demolition. Molodoy and YEKINDAR locked it down as CT’s, 11-1 at the halftime, and FalleN closed it with a 4k in the pistol right after. About as brutal as a Grand Final ending can get. Game, series, event!

To cap it all off…

KSCERATO was FURIA’s rock for the whole series, barely misstepped, earning him the MVP award. Yuurih and molodoy clutched big impact rounds when it mattered the most, and FalleN’s calls from map three onward looked like textbook leadership. YEKINDAR had a very quiet start of the series, but showed up when he was needed the most.

For NaVi, b1t was solid(ish) throughout the series, iM had some good rounds early, but w0nderful and makazze vanished when things got a bit messy.

I think, in the end, it all came down to composure. NaVi were on fire until they weren’t, and FURIA just refused to go down without a fight.
