PGL Bucharest 2026 Group Stage: Round 3 Match Analysis & Predictions

Round 3 of the PGL Bucharest 2026 tournament is where the pressure starts to build. The High Matches will send two teams straight into the playoffs, the Low Matches will send two teams home.

Here’s what we have on the menu.

Round 3 High Matches (The 2-0’s)

Astralis vs The MongolZ

Both teams arrive in good form. Astralis won 2-0 against B8 in a competitive series, but that match exposed some cracks, especially when closing rounds. The MongolZ, on the other hand, handled EYEBALLERS without much sweat after sweeping BC.Game in their opener game.

The head-to-head slightly favors Astralis, but a history of only one matchup between them doesn’t mean they have them all figured out. That loss came at IEM Chengdu 2025 during the transition period for The MongolZ when they were still adjusting to playing with a stand-in, after the sudden bench of their star palyer – Senzu. With cobrazera now fully integrated in the squad, and the team looking sharp across both rounds, The MongolZ are the slightly more stable team right now.

Prediction: The MongolZ 2-1.

PARIVISION vs FUT

Both teams did what was expected of them so far, and this one feels like a clash between two well-prepared squads. FUT started a bit mellow in their opener map, losing to Inner Circle 9-13, but recovered fast, winning the next two maps with a statement. They also decimated NRG in Round 2, dropping only 5 rounds over two maps.

PARIVISION had the same strong start, beating Legacy in the opener, then got tested against FOKUS, but managed to stay composed when it mattered and grinded through with a 2-0.

The head-to-head favors PARIVISION, including the 2-1 win over FUT at PGL Cluj-Napoca in February, which was one of the closes series in that stage. With both teams in good form, the deciding factor should be experience in closer late-game situations, where PARIVISION historically looks more reliable.

Prediction: PARIVISION 2-1.

Round 3 Mid Matches (The 1-1’s)

FOKUS vs Wildcard

FOKUS are one of the more interesting teams early in Bucharest. Their Round 1 upset over 3DMAX raised eyebrows, and even though they were swept by PARIVISION in Round 2, they made them sweat for every round, and kept the game competitive for the whole series, showing they’re pretty capable of pushing stronger teams.

Wildcard, meanwhile, reached the Mid Matches due to FaZe forfeiting in Round 2, after getting swept by B8 in Round 1, which means they still have not proven themselves over a full series at this event.

The head-to-head also leans toward FOKUS, who beat Wildcard just two weeks ago at Urban Riga Open Season 3. Given how these teams have looked so far, FOKUS seem like the ones with clearer structure.

Prediction: FOKUS 2-1.

Legacy vs MIBR

This Brazilian derby carries a lot familiarity, and the previous results suggest a tight series. They both dropped their Round 1 matches against a strong opposition, with Legacy falling to PARIVISION and MIBR losing to Astralis. They both responded well in Round 2, recovering with wins – Legacy against Inner Circle, and MIBR against s1mple’s BC.Game in a tight series.

Their recent head-to-head history is split, with both teams winning one series at BetBoom RUSH B! Summit 2026, where MIBR took the semifinal victory. Still, Legacy have shown much more improvement in past month or two, which makes me lean toward them winning this.

Prediction: Legacy 2-1.

B8 vs 3DMAX

This matchup favors B8 based on both recent form, and how they’re performing in this event. B8 looked comfortable in their Round 1 win against Wildcard, and followed it with a competitive series against Astralis, pushing the series deep before they fell short. 3DMAX, by contrast, are struggling hard lately. In this event, they looked bad in their loss against the newcomers FOKUS, and even needed an overtime in the decider against Team Voca in Round 2 to make it to the 1-1’s batch.

The head-to-head history also tilts toward B8 recently. While 3DMAX did win one series at Parken Challenger Championship #3, B8 responded immediately , bouncing back with dominant 13-3 scorelines on both maps. Based on how both of these teams look lately, I’ve got to give the nod to B8.

Prediction: B8 2-1.

NRG vs EYEBALLERS

NRG enter the matchup with mixed results, but still look more convincing overall. They opened with a dominant win against Voca in the NA derby, but were quickly humbled by FUT in Round 2, losing both maps in convincing fashion. EYEBALLERS are yet to record a win at the event. Sure they’ve got one on paper, but it came via FaZe’s forfeit, and they were hard-swept by The MongolZ in Round 2 without showing much resistance.

There’s no head-to-head history to lean on, so the comparison should be actual performance in Bucharest. Even with a heavy loss to FUT, NRG have at least shown they can control weaker opposition. EYEBALLERS are yet to prove that.

Prediction: NRG 2-1.

Round 3 Low Matches

Inner Circle vs FaZe Clan

FaZe finally enter the server after a chaotic start to the event, but they do under very different circumstances than I expected. The schedule clash forced them to forfeit the first two matches while competing at HLC Cyprus PRO in Belgrade, where they made a deep run, but ultimately lost in the final and will now miss the upcoming Major in Cologne for the first time, yikes. That means they arrive in Bucharest not only after having played three series in one day which ended in a tough loss, but also under an immediate elimination pressure and carrying fatigue.

Inner Circle have not been outclassed so far, pushing FUT to three maps and showing some fight against Legacy, but hey still sit at 0-2. Even with the rough turnaround, FaZe’s overall level should be enough here (Keyword: should). I’d bunny-hop away from this one to be honest, biggest ? of the day.

Prediction: FaZe 2-1.

BC.Game vs Team Voca

Both teams enter this elimination match after inconsistencies in the first two rounds, but BC.Game still looked a bit more equipped to survive. Round 1 was a loss to MongolZ, which I kind of expected given the current difference in level, and then lost against MIBR in a close series, but showed flashes of individual strengths, despite the defeat.

Voca, meanwhile, were stomped by NRG in Round 1, then struggled again in Round 2 against the shaky 3DMAX, where they failed to close rounds when they needed to.

There’s no head-to-head history, so my decision leans on overall quality of opposition faced so far. BC.Game have been tested against stronger teams in this (end past) event, which should give them the edge in an elimination match.

Prediction: BC.Game 2-1.
